Went on the dinner train, the meal was excellent and the cook was friendly. Be prepared to be bored, the scenery from the train is the highway on one side and a junkyard on the other. You ride a freight track for a mile or two at a painfully slow pace (12mph top speed). We did get to go up front with the driver which was pretty neat. Overall it was ok but overpriced, I would do it again if the train traveled further at a faster speed.
Did the bed & breakfast train ride for our anniversary. Was neat sleeping in a refurbished train. The meal was damn good and the Leinenkugel honey Weiss went down smoothly!
There was also a bar on the train so we had a nightcap too :)
This is a really great experience and something different for couples to do. For the price you get, food, lodging and a train ride. That's a pretty phenomenal deal for under $400 for 2 people.
